Big Sky Senior Services and Adult Resource Alliance Unite to Strengthen Senior Services

Big Sky Senior Services and the Adult Resource Alliance of Yellowstone County are joining forces in a strategic merger, combining resources and expertise to create a stronger, more comprehensive support system for seniors in our community. This exciting partnership was initiated by both boards as a proactive step, ensuring that as Yellowstone County’s senior population grows, older adults have the resources they need to remain independent, retain their dignity, and experience a high quality of life while preventing elder abuse.

By bringing together the strengths of both organizations, this merger will enhance efforts to address critical challenges such as housing, transportation, in-home care, access to essential resources, food security, and elder abuse prevention.

"Big Sky Senior Services has long been committed to helping seniors remain independent in their own homes, and by joining forces with the Adult Resource Alliance, we are ensuring that mission continues and expands,” said Tyler Amundson of Big Sky Senior Services. “Together, we can take bold steps to meet the needs of our growing senior population in new and innovative ways.”

Erika Purington of the Adult Resource Alliance added, “This merger brings together our combined 98-year legacy of service, allowing us to enhance and expand the support available to seniors and caregivers. As the Adult Resource Alliance celebrates 50 years of service, this partnership ensures we can develop more comprehensive solutions and provide the necessary resources for older adults in Yellowstone County to live independently and thrive.”

Both executive directors will continue working together to ensure a smooth transition, and all current programs and services will remain in place without disruption. They ask that community members continue to connect to the current resources as they have in the past.  As the organizations integrate, a new brand identity will be developed to reflect the expanded mission and vision for serving Yellowstone County’s aging population.

For now, the focus is on celebrating the legacy and impact of both organizations while preparing for an even stronger future. Community members who wish to support this exciting work are encouraged to reach out to the Adult Resource Alliance or Big Sky Senior Services respectively to share their encouragement.

The boards and leadership of both organizations extend their gratitude to the community for its ongoing support. This merger is a testament to our shared commitment to ensuring seniors remain independent, engaged, and supported for years to come.
